Poetry Sunday 20 November 2016

Yesterday we linked to Ali Cobby Eckermann’s Sydney Review of Books Essay, “The place of Terrorism in Australia”.

Having watched the Four Corners (ABC) exposé of Residential Foster Care in Australia,  we republish one of Ali’s poems about family.

Kumana

There is no life
but family

When I am young
I live with my family

When I grow up
I leave my family

When I am lonely
I miss my family

When I am drunk
I reverse charge my family

When I pass away
I unite family

There is no life
but Family
