Another poem from the wonderful artist Edwin Tanner

GODS

(They are legion still)

If I were compelled to accept one
I would choose LUG:
For LUG is the god of workmanship
He doesn’t bullshit
Nor cackle about,
Plagiarise,
Tell lies,
Make ridiculous promises,
Nor create flies.

LUG himself has no god.
He uses his hands,
And his loaf,
He’s wise:
He needs neither piss-poor followers
Preachers
No!
Not even spies.

LUG is too sane to be a god really
He is not worshipped now.
